Question Posted Wednesday April 18 2007, 4:14 pm

i have a linux computer and whenever i try to sign onto gaim, it says this:

COULD NOT LAUNCH MENU ITEM
Details: Failed to execute child process "gaim" (no such file or directory)

i dont get it. it was working just the other day. and i signed off and shut down my computer, and now it works.

i have verizon DSL if that matters.

Try reinstalling gaim(the process of doing this depends on your distribution, see its documentation). Instead of using a shortcut to access gaim, use the executable. If that doesn't work, you're probably out of luck, and you'll have to use a replacement program.
