I was a 32d until over a year ago when I went on the pill, and suddenly I don't even know what my size is anymore because everywhere I go say I'm something different! at one place im 32dd, at another I'm 30e, somewhere else i'm in f cups!! I used to think they were getting too large when I was a 32d but now I would kill just to have them back! none of my bras fit properly, just before my period they bloat up so much it gets painful to wear any of my bras! They feel soo big and i'm dreading the summer as I wont feel confident in any strappy tops and wont want to go out, I feel like they're taking over my life! breast surgery isn't really on the cards at the moment as I'm 18 years old, but are there are excersises or anything I can do to help reduce the size? I've got extra fat/flab at the tops of my arms/by my armpits aswell that I hate! And i'm actually not a "big" person, I'm 5"7 and wear a UK dress size 10 (US 6 I think)! And I do regular excersise, approx 5 hours a week? But am willing to do more! Please help =( any advice on what sort of excersises would target the right places, type of excersize or anything else that might help? ='(

Sabine answered Friday April 6 2007, 1:27 am: Well, there's not really a standard sizing scheme in most lingerie, as there is none likewise in American dress sizes. I usually wear a 34D or 34DD and I'm about a size 8 dress. There's not much, other than losing weight, that you can do about your breasts. Sounds, however, like you have a body most of us dream of. At a size 6 you don't want to lose much weight.
I have a few pieces of advice for you. I know that big breasts can be uncomfortable and I'm not trying to diminish your discomfort at all:
1) Don't buy lingerie by the size on the label. Try on everything before you buy it. Even those of us with more modest endowments must do that. You can even go do specialty shops. Where I live there's one called The Bra Fitter. They can measure, give you recommendations for bras in the lines they carry, and you can try them on in the store. The sizes on the labels are just numbers.
2) Try 'minimizing bras' which are designed to flatten and squish the breasts together. Purchase sturdy bras with many hooks on the back as opposed to one or two. Usually, women with breasts that big need underwires. I do. Try to find these bras on sale because they will not be inexpensive.
3) Don't give up on breast reduction surgery. Most American insurances pay for it if you can show that you are being hurt by your breasts. You have to be able to show trenches in your shoulders from your bra straps or back pain from being top heavy or something of that ilk. I assume you're in the UK and I don't know what the guidelines are for getting the surgery there. A physician can probably tell you.
