you can practice by falling asleep and then a few hours later waking up for like 20 minutes then going back to sleep and repeating that.
this ususally keeps you in REM (rapid eye movement mode) so it helps you control your dreams
after practicing that you dont have to wake up in the middle of the night anymore.
i get lucid dreams almost every night and i've never really had to practice it ]
i don't know about practice, but they say lucid dreams usually occur in the morning if you wake up and then take another nap. so after you wake up, walk around or watch tv for an hour or two, and then go back to sleep.
also, keeping a dream journal is supposed to help. i'm not sure how? but it jogs the memory or something, i think. so whenever you have a dream, write it down as soon as you wake up.
lucid dreams are pretty hard to induce but i hope i helped. good luck. <3 ]
