chemicals that go in your hair to keep in curly till you cut it, [ or it grows out. ]

I just wanted to add on from the person below that it doesn't only keep your hair curly for a few months, it stays curly permanently. However, when your hair is growing out it will not grow out curly. What I'm saying is that the curls stay until you cut them or trim them.

You go to the salon and get it, a perm is a hairstyle that keeps your hair curly for a few months.
