Older boyfriend/ Bad rumors

Question Posted Saturday March 31 2007, 8:58 am

My boyfriend is in high school and I'm still in 8th grade; We've been close for years and we've been going out for several months. To be honest, he's got a few girls in his grade that like him, so of course they're doing everything they can to get him to break up with me including starting nasty rumors and putting down everything I do.

When we all hang out *his friends and I* no matter how nice I try to be, they love to put me down and treat me badly; So he started just hanging out with my friends instead. But I feel horrible, I wish they could just let me be. What should I do about all of this? I never did anything wrong.

I started dating my boyfriend when I was in 8th grade & he was in 9th. We're still dating now so this can definately work out. About the girls that are starting rumors, those are just girls being girls. When you go to highschool, it will not get any better or any easier. Ignore it. Who really cares about what they have to say. If they are this immature about your relationship with him, then do not give them your time, because honestly they're acting younger than you are. If his friends are treating you badly, talk to him about it. That would probably upset me a lot if my boyfriend's friends were putting me down & it would probably upset my boyfriend even more. That's why you should sit down & talk to him about it. He should not let people [even if they are his friends] put you down. He's your boyfriend, he should be sticking up for you. Of course you didn't do anything wrong. You're dating him, that's why. They are probably jealous, even his guy friends, because you are spending more time with him or they don't have girlfriends themselves. Talk to your boyfriend about it & you guys can figure out what to do.

-hope that helped!♥

They're just jealous and probably have every right to be. Although I've never seen your boyfriend, I'm sure he's quite the cutie.

Just know that your boyfriend loves you & he's not gonna leave you for those lame ugly girls. He's with you for a reason, and if he wanted them, he'd had left you already. Correct? Right. So just stop worrying. And next time they're mean to you, don't be nice to them. Be rude back. There's no reason for anyone to be walked all over when they're gonna be nice.
