I have a wonderful boyfriend! We have been going out for a week now, and he is very nice, sweet, and pretty funny. Except he smells really bad some times when I am near him, like I smell no deodorant or cologne on him at all. It's very dreadful! Especially since he has gym at school and it makes it worse afterwards.
I would really hate to say anything, so what can I do to give him the message he stinks?
You should always work your way around it. Sometimes just bring the topic up. like "why don't you wear deodarant sometimes?" really gently. "becasue sometimes, like all guys, you have some body odor". or, you can buy him some deodorant and give it to him as a present and ask him to use it. queenhearts answered Friday March 30 2007, 8:09 pm: You could always ask him what cologne he uses.
And if he answers.. you can tell him to try.. like Tag, blah blah, Axe. Something other than what he already uses.
Or you could always say.. "I love Tag[for example] blah blah. It smells so good"
Maybe he will buy it?
You could always carry a bit of bodyspray and spray yourself... and walk towards him. Maybe, it could help a bit.
You could always come out and say it. "Uhh. I smell BO." or make a friendly joke about it?
I understand how it is. It can be awkward and embarrassing .. to just say it. But he probably doesn't even notice it. Just make sure what you say doesn't come off as rude. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
