I have been having my period for a while and i always wear black pants never anything else cuz i am scared i will leak. how do you find the confidence to wear other pants because everyone thinks i am weird because i dont wear jeans on jeans days when having my period

TEENAGExHEARTS answered Wednesday March 28 2007, 4:52 pm: well first make sure that you are using a strong enough pad or tampon. if you are then you shouldn't be leaking. the only time i ever leaked was when i wore a thin pantyliner like the first day i ever got my period because i didn't know any better ha :] but now i know that for the first couple of days i should either wear a heavy pad or a tampon. and if i do wear a tampon i always wear a thin panty liner on my underwear just in case of a little leak. i'm talking like little drips, nothing major. because if you are leaking a lot with a tampon then you must not be putting it in right, you might not be changing it often enough, or you might need a bigger tampon (ex. super or super plus).
try it out on a weekend wearing jeans and you'll notice that you most likely won't leak, you are just being a little paranoid. i mean how often do you leak? it shouldn't be often at all. and if other girls can wear jeans during their period, then you should be able to too :]
