Roger is the subject of the sentence and that is usually labeled with an S. Is and waiting would be the verbs, but is would be considered a helping verb and patiently would be adverb because it describes to you how he is waiting. Please keep in mind you need to also make note of the nomnicate and predicate of the sentence. Nomnicate is anything before the verb (including the subject) while predicate is after. Once you do a couple you will get the hang of it! :) ]
Every sentence is made up of a subject and a predicate, right? Well, when you diagram a sentence, the first thing you do is draw a picture with one main line that represents the sentence. Now, split it in two. One half is for the subject and one half is for the predicate.
