Weight problems in general

Question Posted Monday March 26 2007, 10:48 pm

I'm a teenager who has always struggled severely with her weight. I'm 5'2" and I'm usually between 165 and 170 pounds. I have been up to 183 previously though. I just started a new exercise program where I do 20 mins on the elliptical trainer and I go on the treadmill for 40 mins (i run 1/4 a mile and walk 1/4 a mile alternating it until it adds up to 2 milds) and it says that i burned 563 calories the last time I did it. I do this 4 days a week (i have dance classes the other 3 days)

I gained 5 pounds recently and I can't tell if it's from PMS or just because I'm fat.

So how do I tell if it's from PMS or not?

Also- i'm CONSTANTLY hungry. i'm a vegeterian so i'm not going to eat meat or anything.

someone give me some advice and tell me if you think that my exercise program will make me thin.

PMS can make a big difference to a lot of things - weight included. So it may be nothing but that.

I am unsure about what your diet consists of so I cannot give a very detailed response I'm afraid (also your age here may play an important role as well) but the one thing I would like to suggest is that you seek professional assistance with your diet and exercise plan.

You may be able to have a session with a personal trainer who can write up a routine for you to follow as well as make recommendations on a healthy diet (which is vegetarian) which may better be better suited for the results you seek. It was what I had done in the end (I had joined a gym and their trainers there were more than happy to walk me through a routine I could use for weight loss).
