aim 6.0
i have aim 5.9 and a virus appeared that sends messages to everyone on my buddy list
someone suggested deleting it and redownloading it
i tried that and it didnt work
so then i tried downloading aim 6.0
everytime i try to sign on it always says
"a server error occured"
does anyone know how to either get rid of the virus or get aim 6.0 to work?

Ah! I got one of those like, last summer.
Let me be the first to tell you, uninstalling it and redownloading it WILL NOT WORK.
Been there, tried that.
Also, updating 6.0 won't help either.
You have a virus. and you need to get rid of it.
How do you get rid of it?
Well, each virus is different. The one I got I tried to run my virus protection and it showed up, but couldn't delete it. But, also, the one I got, would randomly restart my computer whenever it felt like it.
I tried dealing with it for THREE months, until I got so tired of it that I finally called my computer guy. His solution, clear everything off of the modem and start over again, reinstalling only the needed things, plus a better and newer virus protection.
He took my modem for about two weeks, and brought it back good as new.
Of course, though, it cost at least $300, but that's still cheaper than having to buy a completely new computer.
