Question Posted Sunday March 25 2007, 11:06 am

Hi, well i just have a few questions about america, so if you could answer, it would be great. well i live in the uk by the way. so anyway, how much does a detatched home, in the suburbs, like in the movies and tv shows, cost? If i were to get my GCSE qualification, and A levels, and a degree in a university in the uk, does it matter if i want a job there in the states? or do i need to re-do everything? thanks in advance.

It all depends on where in the U.S. you live. When I lived in Texas, you could get a pretty big house for under $200,000. (An average/small size house here is about $300,000). But then again, where I live is kind of ridiculous for houses in my opinion. I'd probably get on google & research the area/city you are interested in & look for house prices in that area. As far as the GCSE qualification & degree, I would have no idea. It's best to google that as well.

Well most houses you see in the movies, aren't actually houses, they only have a front. Also most house aren't like that. I live in Texas and the house are a great size and great for the price, A regular house in Texas would probably be 3x the amount in California. And the education thing, I think you wouldn't have to redo everything but take test to get certified in the state you live in.
