we are watching hotel rwanda in history class. i dont know why but it just hits me so hard, i always feel so depressed when i'm watching it. then, i walk out of history class to go to my locker and i think of how stupid it is to worry about the smallest stuff, and how little certain things matter and how lucky we are. i dont know why it makes me feel this way because i'll look around the class room and there will be people doing other work or not paying attention, and i dont know how they can do that. anyone have any insight hahaa?

I applaud you for realizing this, and being introspective and mature enough to think deeply about how and why this film makes you feel the way you do. In our society, we do tend to worry about small, trivial things. That in turn detracts us from thinking about what really matters: humanity.
Other kids may not be paying attention simply because it's a movie (and not a lecture), so they think they have a chance to do other things. It's their loss. But anyway, you are gaining a lot from watching this movie- the ability to put your life into perspective and to realize how much you can be thankful for. I'm so happy to hear that you can return to your locker after watching it, overhear things that other students are talking about and be able to put things into perspective. There are so many things in our culture today that are nothing but distractions and a waste of time. Be thankful that you're undestanding them early, and don't listen to anyone who criticizes you for it.
