Spooning to my knowledge and how i've heard it used is in refference to the way you sleep next to someone. If you are laying down on your side and the other person is on their side and their back is next to your stomach like this ----> ((
Then you are spooning. Thus it looks like two spoons are sitting on top of each other. Not necessarily bad unless they are naked and one is your GF or BF. Peace
