finding a dress

Question Posted Wednesday March 14 2007, 6:22 pm

How do I know if a dress look good on me? What do I look for when I look at myself wearing that dress in the mirror?

I'm really self concious and I'm not the best in styles so I have to look at everything because I might think I look great in this dress but everyone else might think it's a bad style or colour for me.

Thank you so much for your troubles!

Additional info, added Wednesday March 14 2007, 8:49 pm:
Opps I meant WHERE and what areas do I look at my body when I try out the dress in the mirror?

And if I ask the sales lady on her opinion what if she lies so I'll buy the dress?
.

Don't ask the saleslady's opinion: she will lie and say it looks good because she wants you to buy it.

As for what to look for, make sure to wear the right type of bra that day so you won't have to guess what it will look like under the dress. If you think a dress looks good on you, then it does. You are your own worst critic. If it looks good to you, you'll be confident, and confidence is the most beautiful thing a person can have.

You'll know when a dress looks good on you. If you think that it looks good then it does. Dont bother with what other people think. Their not the ones wearing the dress. If you like it then theres no problems.

The first thing you need to do is figure out your best and worst features- for instance, pretty eyes should be played up, while big thighs should not.

Try to avoid trying on the same types of dresses. Grab a few random ones that you'd never pick just for fun...

Look at the dress from all angles. Can you wear a bra with it? Does your panty line show? Can you move/dance/bend over in it? Does it show off your best features?

The best thing to do is either to take a friend with you when you're shopping, take pictures of yourself in the dresses, or ask the salespeople what they think of a dress.

Well you want to find a dress that doesnt look white as a sheet, unless that's what you're going for. White dresses usually make anyone look tan and go well with just about any hair color. You will want to look at your cleavage and where the dress falls to, and make sure its not slutty-short. Make sure that you could fit a bra under it (if you're wearing a bra with that dress) so that it doesn't show. You can find a TON of dresses at Deb, which is usually found in most malls. Good Luck!
