So... the weather has warmed up
and the snow has for the most part melted all away in our dog run,
and now our puppy will not pee or poop outside, we assume its because the snows gone,
and shes not used to the grass.
But, she will go to the bathroom inside! argh!
and she was doing so good, as to going outside, until now..
well when we got our first puppy, she wasn't potty trained either. Now she's 3 years old and we made her a private spot where tree's are and she always goes there to the bathroom.
Try doing this: when your dog goes to the bathroom inside, say NO and shake your finger. Get your puppy to know that going to the bathroom inside is very bad.
first you have her get comfortable around the grass.
carry her out in a nice grassy spot and sit there with her. Pet her and be very soothing and nice... then reward her with treats. That will show her that the grass doesn't do anything to you.
Another way is let her eat, and then after a few minutes, put her on a leash and just walk around the grass until she eventually HAS to go the bathroom... then she'll HAVE to go on the grass, because there's no where else to go.
