study abroad Im 14/f but im turning 15 in Sep. Im thinking about studying abroad in Costa Rica for the Feb. - July semester. Im really hoping I can go because I need to be fluent in spanish (I already know some). There are some things holding me back though. Here are my questions.
-How can I help raise money for my parents? It costs around 8000 dollars, and I have talked to my dad and asked whether we could afford it or not, and he said it is really expensive, but he never said no. So maybe if I helped raise money I could go?
-Im worried like what if the town I go to stay has a really bad school or something with gangs and all that?
-What if the family has other kids that would not like me?
-Also with AFS {look on google} do you think if they did have bad schools or a bad family would we be able to get a refund and have me come home if i was truly scared?
Please tell me all you know! thanks in advance

i think you should go for it...well its normal to be scared at first cuz your going to a totally different place..But itll be fun and youll get to know new people and see new places and get new education...itll be a whole new expereince for you!And dont forget its expereince that makes a person strong!i think you should get a job for your age so you can help your parents with the money.Try to save as much money as possible to get what you want. ]
if you hook up with a program , then you wont get put in a bad school. my sister is studying in france for a year. i think that if you raised money they would let you go. theres nothing to be scared about because afs will put you in a good school.
good luck ]
