i'm going to audition for a community theatre production of seussical next week.
i haven't seen the show, but i read a huge synopsis of it and i've heard a few of the songs.
I'm an alto. I think I'm a stronger actress than i am a singer, even though i can sing resonably well and i've been takin voice lessons for a couple of months. any advice? what charecter should i put down that i'm auditioning for?
Mayzie.
It's all about the attitude. My friend took singing lessons for a few months too and she was wonderful on stage. You could tell she didn't have much experience with singing [she was an alto too] But she belted parts out and it was amayzing hah.
Go on youtube and put in parts like 'Gertrude McFuzz, Sour Kangaroo, Mayzie' and see if you could do it.
bernie_gabrielle answered Sunday March 11 2007, 2:50 pm: ughh, i hate this show but i can help you. hmm...if you're an alto you should go for mayzie or the sour kangaroo. songs...look for something to show off your belt to the fullest extent. here i am from dirty rotten scoundrels is the best choice, then gimme gimme from thoroughly modern millie or i'm not afraid of anything from songs for a new world. good luck!
