There's a (relatively easy) way to transfer all your songs from your iPod to your new computer. Check my answer to this question:

If you need it explained in more detail, ask me to my inbox or IM me. I'll be glad to help you.
I can also give you basic advice on how to fix your laptop, like free antivirus programs that could help it get up and running again. Just ask me if you want to know that.
dramaditz answered Sunday March 11 2007, 2:03 pm: All the songs on yours will be deleted, and only his will remain.
The only thing you can do is get your laptop fixed, or just working for a little bit and just manually transfer all the songs from your laptop to your dads computer using like a cd. You just have to get like 50 CD's and transfer the songs that way....it's a lot of work...but there's nothing else you can do...sorry [ dramaditz's advice column | Ask dramaditz A Question ]
vintagesmiles answered Sunday March 11 2007, 1:40 pm: it would only update the songs from your dad's computer and all other songs would be deleted. i really dislike that myself. i had many songs on my i-pod but it's hard to pay $1.00 for a song if you have a colossal song collection so i tried updating my i-pod on my friend's computer and it deleted all of my songs and added all of hers. perhaps if your laptop is fixed all of your songs will be restored so you won't loose them. hope i could help. :)
