Being shady is the act of doing something suspicious. It can be good or bad but in either case you don't want to be seen. Also it could apply to someome who is not well known. You could say, "He is a shady character" and imply that you don't know much about him and what you do know is confirmed, so it could be good or bad.

- telling your friends you arent doing anything or dont know what you are doing for the day when really you have plans to go somewhere with another friend
-purposely leaving a friend out of plans or ignoring them
-being a fake friend is pretty shady
-acting '2 faced'..acting/saying one thing to someoen..but going behind their back saying/acting the total opposite way [ icey0990's advice column | Ask icey0990 A Question ]
