OK, I had this nerdy guy at my school give me his pic with his phone number written on the back of it the other day. I was on my way into the restroom when he gave it to me, and so since I had to go any ways, I threw it in the toilet.
Well, the dude comes up to me a week ago and says that he gave me the wrong pic on accident and the one he gave me was a really special one to his mom that he can't replace. Just to get him to leave, I told him I would look for it and call him when I found it. So then he asks me about it again yesterday. What should I tell him so I don't hurt his feelings or look like a cruel person?

Just relax when you are around him act calm, take 4 deep breaths and speak in a sweet tone when you tell him. Because that was nice of him to give you his phone # on the back of the pic. Trust me, if you are much more calm about it when you tell him and use your words carefully more than likely things will turn out GOOD!! I would just say "Listen...(dude)Im very sorry to tell you this but, your picture that you gave me it accidently fell in the toilet when I was in the bathroom the other day. I hope you arent mad. Is that ok?" Something like that. (he might even laugh) Speak in a quiet voice so he understands and doesnt take it bad. Mostly just apologize and maybe make it up to him for doing that. Make sure when you are telling him you look straight into his eyes so you can see his reaction when you tell him.
