"what's your sign?" refers to a girl's zodiac sign, but really its a cheesy pickup line...same with whats your name, blah blah blah

It's a cliched pickup line guys use as an icebreaker, i.e.
"Do you come here often?"
"Where abouts do you live?"
"What's your sign?"
So actually, they don't care if you're a leo. Some guys may ask because they want to judge your personality type but for the most part, they just want to talk to you.

It's probably referring to Zodiac signs. You know, Aries, Taurus, Pisces, etc.
