what does it mean when you're playing guitar and someone says that your fingers have to 'callus over'...so you get used to playing.
im going to start guitar soon, and i want to know what that means. thanks.
uisforukelele answered Sunday March 4 2007, 5:03 pm: if you're right handed, then it's going to happen to your left hand when you fret chords and stuff. basically, the strings cut into your fingers and after a while calluses form on your fingertips... it's just hardened skin... and then it doesn't hurt to play anymore. if you're left handed, then it will be your right hand. but yeah. for a few weeks, they hurt like crap but you have to keep playing and then they'll build up. you can tell if somebody's a guitar player or not by their fingertips.
