OK, a lot of poeple it seems base their friendship on how long they've known eachother. Like, some of my friends are like, "I know you like me more than her because you've known me longer." WHAT? WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM? AM I THE ONLY PERSON THAT'S NOTICING THIS? When ever someone says this around me, I'm not sure what to say, because I don't know if that's how I SHOULD base my friendships. I personally base my relationships on if their nice or something? What SHOULD I be basing my friendships on? Please help!
igivegoodadvice answered Monday February 26 2007, 8:07 pm: This brings to mind a quote I've heard.
"It's not about who you've known longest, it's about who's never left your side". You should be basing your friendships on YOU and your friend. Friendish is give and take. A friend that takes too much leaves the other relationship member unhappy. A friend who gives to much, leaves themselves unhappy. [ igivegoodadvice's advice column | Ask igivegoodadvice A Question ]
