National Anthem

Question Posted Sunday February 25 2007, 12:42 pm

I am singing the national anthem for the school's volleyball team tomorrow.

This will be my first time and I know my nerves are going to be running hog-wild.

What are some foods [I'm lactose intolerant] that will calm your nerves?

Or any medicines?

but Ginger Ale. Works wonders.
Also Don't look anyone in their face. Focus on the flag. or at a clock.

Hey. Try eating pretzels and bread and such. Since it's just bread, it will calm you down and won't come back up on you [if you know what I mean]. My cheerleading coach always makes us eat some before competitions, and they help a lot. Also, you should drink soda, such as sprite or mountain dew before you go on, the sugar helps you to not feel dizzy or anything. Well, good luck! If you need more tips just let me know. ♥ Kathleen.

don't eat anything out of the ordinary tomorrow that might make you sick. drink water and tea (if you have it, it calms you down). before i perform, it helps for me to stand outside by myself before i go on. even in the parking lot or something. and just take deep breaths. it also calms you down if you convince yourself that you are hot shit. and just keep telling yourself that you will do great, because you will! and even if you think you won't do well, just remember that nobody else in the crowd could do it better because if they could, then they would be the ones singing the national anthem. well, hope i helped, and good luck tomorrow :)

I have took the medicine but I don't remember the names but honestly you have to get a prescribtion for it so go see the doctor and get him to give it to you. somtthing that can calm your nerves is ammonia not the cleaning ammonia but it is an ammonia that comes in a little black bottle like the castor oil bottle you can sniff it and drink it with water and sugar. It is found in the South but it is a little harder to find it up north but it is usually in the gorcery stores and in drug stores on the bottle it says Respitory Stimulant becasue when you sniff it and you are nervous and your heart is beating fast it will calm your heart rate down.

Try bananas. They're delicious. Don't drink any sodas, drink water. I wouldn't take any medicine unless your stomach or something starts to hurt. If your stomach does start to hurt, take some Pepto Bismal.
