Birfday Hooplah
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up. I want to make a big fuss over him but I am kind of broke. Does anyone have any ideas?

What I made for a special guy was a "treasure chest". I went to AC Moore, bought a wooden treasure chest (pretty cheap) and painted it, added cute touches, and filled it with inside jokes, meaningful items, letters, poems, notes, and other special things we shared. He really LOVED it, and loved that I took the time to make it. Anyone can buy a gift, but it really really shows if you put effort into it.
Or, if your really crafty, you can make a shadow box. My friend made that for me and its really the most favorite thing in my room, and its the first thing I'd grab in a fire. All you need is a frame, foam pieces, pictures, and other artsy stuff like paper, stickers, cut-outs, and pretty much anything that can be glued down. Its hard to describe, but if you want to see a picture of mine just contact me :)

ok you can make him a really cute card. and like i did this for my bf and he thought it was so cute. get liek a poster board. fold it in half for the card. and then right maybe if hes turning 18.. 18 reasons why you love him. then make it like a flip book. like have a quote with a piece of paper over it so then he lifts that up and sees one reason. and then you can always cook him dinner. with the card. you can make a collage of fotos of you of him as well and put it in a frame. or liek get a bulliten board and tak pictures of you and him on it and right little notes.

my friend just made this book for her bf, she printed out coloring pictures of like disney stuff and colored them, then pasted them on construction paper and wrote captions for them. Like one was of mulan fighting and she wrote that he loved her because she knew kung fu and shed write little stories and insiders they had, it was very cute and he was very happy.

Hand-made gifts mean the most.
Make him a scrapbook with pictures of you two. Make him a powerpoint with pictures of you and him. Just make him feel special, and it doesn't have to be with something you buy, because you can't buy love =]
