Get between 512MB and 1GB of RAM(not storage), and your speed will drastically increase. Also, go to start>run and type "msconfig" without quotes. Go to the startup tab. Uncheck everything you don't need. You should only be running one firewall, one antispyware, and one antivirus, uncheck the excess. Don't uncheck things if you don't know what they are. When you're done, press OK and restart the computer. The computer will be faster. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
runawayxlove answered Friday February 23 2007, 12:12 pm: hey, well what do you have on your computer? windows 95, windows 98, windows 2000, or windows xp? if you have one of the lower ones, just simply upgrade. also if you have a lot of computer games, camera things, software, or spyware on there, that can also cause a computer system to slow down. if none of those things work try taking it to bestbuy and getting it fixed or remodeled.

Next time you turn it on, be patient and go into 'Edit or Delete Programs' and delete all the spy-ware programs except for one; the one that seems to work the best.
This should cause your computer to go faster.
If it doesn't, the GeekSquad can help, I've heard.
