Learning how to skatebaord :D

Question Posted Thursday February 22 2007, 8:07 pm

Ok just suddenly i developed a taste for skateboarding. i dunno i think its fun and cool but the problem is i cant skateboard at all. i can barely keep my balance and barely ride it. i was wondering if theres a site that can teach u everything or the basics or REALLY basic ones like positions, riding, stopping, and stuff. and one more thing, is it possible to accomplish somethin by not thinking about something bad thats gonna happen like for example since im learning how to ride a skateboard and when i think i am gonna fall off i do but when i do think of myself just glideing for a few seconds, it happens! heh im starting to get more active now the next thing i wanna do is develop my own fighting style and learn how to do flips and run up walls and jump gaps. and to let you know i sort of started acting like this when i saw this video on youtube. showed people doing kool flips and stuff and i sort of spoke to myself that im gonna train hard and be like them. well srry for makin u read all this ^_^'' just wanted i dunno just say it.

Okay.. I am a skateboarder so i should be able to help. Um there is a really good training (Trick tip) video i know about and it probably costs a bit of money. But you can also go onto this website called (www.youtube.com) and type in "Tony Hawks Trick tips volume 1.. It should teach you all the basics about stance (Regular, Goofy, Switch, Nollie, And fakie) and it should teach you all the proper basics of turning stopping pushing and riding. I hope i helped you out a bit.

Hey. I totally understand how you feel because I do things like this all the time. And when I stick to it I make it happen and I'm so proud of myself. And yes it's true, you just have to continue to think positively and that you can do it and you will. Just don't give up because it will take a really long time but once you get it you'll be so proud. Sorry if you already knew all this lol. But anyways, some sites where you can learn are [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) looks great OR [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) tells you how to do some pretty cool tricks. Also, if you're finding it hard to learn off of a website, believe it or not there may be some places in your area where you can learn. I would check the phone book or ask around. I really hope this helped and good luck! =)
