Friends ignoring me?

Question Posted Thursday February 22 2007, 10:40 am

I'm a junior in high school, and lately I've felt as if all my friends are disappearing before me. I always had a really small, tight group of friends that I loved, but then at the end of my freshman year, my two best friends in the world moved, and at the end of sophomore year, two more moved. So I was pretty much lost at the beginning of the year, because even though I had friends, they weren't really very close. And then, I got to know this one girl who I'll call Amanda, and we got super close. I introduced her to another friend of mine, "Natalie", and the two of them became friends. Amanda and I were still a lot closer though, and we talked on the phone pretty much every day and hung out a lot during and outside school, sometimes with Natalie. Suddenly, over Christmas break, they kept calling me to hang out but I wasn't able to spend much time with them, and so the two of them started hanging out and became reallllly close. And so long story short, at school, Natalie completely ignores me and Amanda pretty much brushes me off most of the time...they completely replaced me with each other. I feel so lost, and confused... I know this is only high school, but I feel as if I have no one. Amanda sort of filled the void that was left by my friends that moved, and now that she's pretty much ignoring me, I feel so lonely and empty... I don't even feel like going to the cafeteria at breaks anymore. I have absolutely no idea what to do. I suppose I could make new friends, but its very hard to make friends in a place you've been for a long time. Help, or something?

hey, well they arent very good "friends" if there ignoring you and excluding you. you should have a talk with the both of them and tell them what your telling us. if they refuse to change and make room for you in the friendship, you need to try to make new friends. join clubs and sports and get to know people with the same interests as yourself. dont complelty forget about amanda and natalie tho, you always need to keep ties with old friends no matter what.

Maybe these girls aren't the ones that you should be hanging out with, if they're going to treat you badly. They don't seem to be like real friends, because real friends will always be there for you. You should branch out, and try and make other friends. You may not want to, but you will realize that you'll find yourself satisfied. And you never know, you could become best friends with someone that you never thought you would be.
