Question Posted Thursday February 22 2007, 8:05 am
Ok well I take a shower once every day after school (the time when every body mostly needs a shower) but recently I've developed a habit that all the girls in my class has, taking a shower in the morning.
It's great because I don't feel so grubby in the morning but it takes a lot of time because of my terrible poofy, frizzy, hair, and I don't put anything into it or straighten because I don't want to damage my hair, AGAIN.
But I'm like this huge tree huger in my school and I don't want to take a shower in the morning but it's so relaxing and my hair just looks so much better and I tried taking a shower in the morning b4 school every OTHER day but I can't because I'm obsessing to look good because I'm so shy in school and too shy about my looks because all the girl's in my class wears like jeans and brand name clothes and just looks PERFECT! help?

When you get out of school, you'll realize none of those things (brand names, status & appearance) mattered. Whats important is what makes you feel comfortable. If your hair is the only issue in the morning, try this: take a shower in the afternoon. Shampoo, condition & style your hair then. In the morning, put on a shower cap (so your hair doesn't wet) & jump in the shower for a quick scrub. That way you'll feel refreshed, but don't have to re-style your hair in the morning. If you rather wash your hair in the morning, then do that. There are products out there that'll help protect your hair & take away the frizz. Before blow drying or straightening, I suggest applying: MATRIX Sleek Look Smoothing System (orange bottle with a 3 on it.) Once you have blow dried, straightened, & styled your hair, apply S-FACTOR Dream Drops. My hair is also very damaged from heat & dying.. but these are the 2 products I use every morning that make my hair sleek, soft & frizz-free. :) Hope that helps. :) [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]

A trick I've learned to save a bit of time and my hair from damage is to wash and condition it well, towel dry then comb some leave in conditioner through followed by a good amount of heat protection spray. Then if you blow-dry it straight (by keeping the hairdryer pointed downwards and brushing as you go) your hair should be much, much straighter and if you want you can just run the straighteners through it and you're done. The product won't damage your hair and because you're using heat protection spray the hairdryer and straighteners will have a much less damaging effect too.
However, don't feel pressured into showering in the morning so you can look good just to impress the girls in your class, they're only going to be around for a tiny percentage of your life and their opinions shouldn't matter. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
