Dropping a few pounds

Question Posted Monday February 19 2007, 8:30 pm

I am mostly happy with my appearance. I think if I lost about 5 to 10 pounds around my tummy and thighs I would be perfectly happy with myself. I know you cannot target weight loss, but since I seem to really only have fat there and not much elsewhere I thought maybe they would be the first places the fat would come off? I am at a healthy weight for my height now, but losing 5 to 10 pounds would not hurt at all. My spring break is the first week of April, and my birthday is during the second week. I am probably going to an island during spring break, which I am very excited for. I decided that by that time I want to look my best and feel my most confident. The thing is, I am not too creative, I'm the kind of person that needs straight forward specific directions to accomplish anything. So can anyone give me an idea of how many calories I should eat at each meal, or specific meals to eat even? I can eat anything for breakfast and lunch, but I don't always make the decision when it comes to dinner because my mom cooks a lot, so I may have to adjust there. As far as exercise goes, for the next 3(?) weeks I have training for an hour and 15 minutes 2 days a week, which is a group of girls from my school and a personal trainer. Most of the time we do a lot of core workouts, so I don't know if that burns many calories. I also have thalassemia minor, which is a kind of anemia (blood condition) and it just causes me to have to push harder during exercise to keep up with other people. I still play sports, but they can get very difficult, since I get tired so much faster than everyone else. So in terms of exercise there, long distance running isn't my favorite choice... I can try, but I won't like it. What are some other options that would help me out, and how often should I do them? Sorry that was so long!

anything cardio. swimming would be the best in my opinion, its ledd tiring than running but you use all of your muscles and burn the same amount of calories. do that for about 1- 1 1/2 hours a day, 4 days a week
eat about 1200-1500 calories a day, you dont have to cut stuff out of your diet. eat what you want just in moderation.
