SIMS game

ok i installed the SIMS expansion pack for PC on my laptop, & i have all the system requirements. but when i put disc one in all it does is give me the option to play, visit the website etc. so i hit play, i've tried playing the sims creator, 800x600, &&&& 1024x768 & it wont get past the opening screen after that.
help!!

uninstall then reinstall. you might have to uninstall the entire sims series that is on your computer but first just uninstall the newest expansion
