well i need some help on this subject,sex.
what are the bad things that can happen from having it? like herpes,ect-but what are they and how do you get them and protect yourelf from them.

The STD list is pretty long. I will give you a site that has a chart on it. Easy read.

The best protection is not to have sex. If you must then ALWAYS see to it your partner or yourself if you're a guy, wears a condom.

You get them from having unprotected sex.
