HPV

Question Posted Friday February 16 2007, 9:12 pm

So their is this guy that had sex with a girl but did not tell her that he had HPV. He used a condom and then later had the warts burned off. How likely is it that she will get HPV.

If he used a condom correctly and the whole time, the chances are pretty low because it was protected sex. But there is always a chance she could get it because condoms are not 100% effective. Also, some studies say that hpv effects parts of the genital area that is not covered by condoms so it is only partually protected, others studies argue that it does completely prevent it. I suggest she get an STD test for it or a pap smear to determine if she has HPV. If she doees not I also suggest the vacination for it, which I just got that prevents this std and potentially cervical cancer.
