what do you use the top part for? and how long is it until the baby is 15 pounds. (it says they cant be in that part anymore after that) and if you took that part out could a baby sleep in there like everynight?
Well, generally bassinets are designed to hold babies until they reach 4-6 months, or start to roll over. 15 pounds will probably come before that.
Since it is portable, like a Pack 'n Play, I would strongly advise against using it for a baby's crib. I wouldn't trust the bassinet overnight, either (on a daily basis, I mean). See, portable cribs tend to break down easily. I know you don't want it to get weak or unstable with your baby in it.
However, this is a good product for traveling, or going to visit grandma, fishing/camping, or where ever you may need to go and have a place for baby to sleep. It's just not built for constant daily use.
I know this costs a little more than the one on the link you sent, but it is more what you would want to look for to use nightly.
Bassinets are pretty costly, even at Walmart. (Believe me, I have done some serious checking around.) Especially considering no longer than baby sleeps there. What I did, was went to a flea market. I actually found an old wooden cradle for around $30. It stays stable, or can be set to rock.
I found this a better deal for me, considering when this baby is out of it, I have to have something that will keep in storage until we decide to have our next baby.
You may find a used bassinet that is newer if that is what you want. Get what will best suit your own needs. Not only can you check at a flea market, but a second hand store as well.
Like I said, I have just gone through buying all of this sort of stuff, and much more. If you need anymore help or advice about it, feel free to drop a message in my inbox.
