When you go to the doctors and they take a urine sample do they typically check for drugs,or does that have to be done completely separate from this(as in by request)?
Also, what's the main reason for urine samples being taken in the first place?
theymos answered Tuesday February 6 2007, 10:39 pm: They only do it if they ask. They normally do tests for drugs for employers and stuff. Urine tests measure what went through the body, they can get an idea of what you ate and what medicine you're taking, and what hormones are in your body. the reason for it is to make sure everything is going right...im not 100% sure what they check on; but they normally take blood if they are taking a urine sample too; so with both they can check for like STD's; diabeties and a bunch of stuff
