What should come first? Dating or Coming Out?

Question Posted Monday February 5 2007, 6:44 pm

Hey, I found out i was gay a couple of years ago and now i think might be able to tell my parents but im not sure. Anyways, theres this really hot guy in my grade who i really like and want to ask out. Would it be bad to go out with someone without my parents knowing that im gay? and would it be unfair for the guy if he's out and im not?

Hey,
In this case, it's probably better to come out first. That way you won't feel like you're hiding anything from your parents, and they can learn to adapt to you dating other guys.
I'm not sure whether it would be unfair to the guy if he's out and your not. But coming out first is definitely a good idea. He might even ask you out if he knows your gay and likes you.
Sorry if this wasn't the help you were looking for. =P
