I am planning a baby shower for my friend. I am trying to plan the menu, but I'd like to do things a little different besides just the standard shower foods like deviled eggs and meatballs. I'm from South Louisiana and it occurred to me that people from other places might have different shower foods. I want to keep it relatively simple, since I'm doing everything myself. I would love to hear your ideas for your favorite baby shower foods. It's not going to be a sit down dinner, it's mostly going to be appetizers and finger foods.

Potential answered Saturday February 3 2007, 6:48 pm: I did a baby shower for my sister. I really just asked her what she wanted. She wanted every thing southern and simple. We had a fruit platter(strawberries, cantelope, melon, peaches, etc.). I fried a bunch of wings, BBQ'd some and the others were hot wings. At the end we cut a watermelon and made it almost like a picnic. If you want something a little more sophisticated, just do a pot luck sort of thing, have a few people bring their best dishes......but you might want to ask your friend what theme she's looking for because she's the one you want to make happy. Hope I helped.....<3Potential. [ Potential's advice column | Ask Potential A Question ]
