period cramps

Question Posted Sunday January 28 2007, 9:55 am

Ok. I just got my 3rd period. And I got the biggest stomach cramp ever, 2days a row. Its so bad. How do I make it hurt less or make it go away at all?

I already know about Mitdol, but its not an option right now, so please don't mention that.

I know it sounds like the hardest thing to possibly do at this time, but exercise really works. Just try a 5 min jog, it truly helps. Zinc, calcium, and B vitamins obtained in food and supplements have been found to reduce cramps, bloating and other symptoms. Always take painkillers with food to prevent stomach discomfort, such as advil or ibuprofen. The heating pad idea is a good one too.

the thing i do is always rest and drink fluids. i lay in my bed and massage my stomach and i go to bed. you can never feel it when you go to bed. i know you dont want me to suggest midol, but maybe advil? if that helps. cause it helps me.

Another thing I've done when I've gotten bad cramps, is drinking chamomille tea. It helps a lot.

You can put a hot/warm water bottle against your stomach or try laying down with a pillow there.
