Just go to your hairstylist and bring in a picture.
They have different types of curls/spirals.
Maybe buy a different curling iron. It should work. You could always put rolls in your hair overnight and wake up to put moose on it.
Have you tried a french braid? My hair is thick too and I did a few frenchbraids around. You just grab a few layers from the top and braid them. Push the braid off to the side and start to make a new braid under it. While you are making the new braid, you pull in the old one and wrap hair around it.. then you continue doing it. Does that make sense? I hope it did.
I'm sure if you ask your hairstylist.. you'll get a number of options. But rolls or a perm will most likely work.
Boochie answered Sunday January 28 2007, 12:29 am: i suggest using a curling shampoo and curling conditioner (herbal essences totally twisted) and then the hair gel and mousse they have too. Then scrunch your hair and dry with a diffuser. that works for mine!
peebles7 answered Saturday January 27 2007, 10:36 pm: i don't suggest getting a perm, that picture does not look like someone with thick straight hair that got it permed, atleast not to me. I suggest looking for a curling iron with a very big barrell, that way it won't be so drastic, it will look better and more natural. also for waves but some curling sprat scrunch your hair and then seperate it into about 7 section and twist each one into a twisty bun, once it dries that should look pretty good, just try it [ peebles7's advice column | Ask peebles7 A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Saturday January 27 2007, 10:31 pm: my friends that got perms totally hated them & ended up straightening them again anyways. you could probably try it. i have really curly hair, but i straighten it almost every day so idk. i would go to your hair dresser & see what she thinks. that's their job, so he/she will most likely be able to tell you if it would be a good idea or not. did you try scrunching it?? i think it looks cute & you can scrunch it wet or dry. just use tresemme mouse. rollers work better then a regular curling iron. you can get the flexible curlers & take a shower at night, wear them to bed [they're soft] & then take them out in the morning too. you could also google ideas.
