theymos answered Saturday January 27 2007, 6:25 pm: If the ICONS on your desktop are NOT showing, then:
-press ctrl+alt+del
-go to the processes tab
-select explorer.exe(if explorer.exe is not in list, just skip this step)
-press end process, and then yes
-go to file>new task
-type in explorer.exe and then press ok
-the desktop and start menu should now show
If the ICONS on your desktop ARE showing, then:
-move your mouse to the very bottom of the screen
-hold down the left mouse button, and move the mouse up

its located near the spacer bar
try that it usually works:-)
