can you not flush a tampon?? like the cotton part?

Read the box first. Some brands say it's okay, but I wouldn't recommend it either way. Throw it in the trash, better safe than sorry.

All I know is that you can flush a condom down the toilet, but I'm not really sure about a Tampon.

The best thing you can do is just read the box and see whether or not you can or cannot flush it down. Not all tampons are the same.

it depends on the tampon. i know once i got this really crappy box of ones with cardboard applicators [yuck!] and the box said that you can flush the tampon AND the applicator! never used them though lol. but just look on the box, it should say there. if it doesn't say anything about flushing, then i suggest you don't, seeing as it can be bad for sewage systems. but nothing too major would happen.. maybe just a minor toilet clog =].
