Rock / Alternative Love Songs

Question Posted Sunday January 21 2007, 10:15 pm

Making my boyfriend a CD and he won't listen to the old songs. It has to be modern such as Bon Jovi, or New Found Glory, ETC. It has to be rock. Or even alternative. And can be heartbreak or just about love or being together. Anything along the lines. Know any?

Yo.

Death Cab For Cutie have about a million great love songs, most of which are about break-ups. They have a few happy ones too, most notably "Passenger Seat" and "I Will Follow You Into The Dark."

The Postal Service are also a really good band for love songs...they're sort of half-alternative, half-electronic. You should check out "Be Still My Heart," "Brand New Colony," and "Such Great Heights."

Some other good ones are:

-"The Aspidistra Flies" by Stars (kind of indie-rock-pop...one of the sweetest love songs ever)
-"Girl Inform Me" by the Shins (very difficult NOT to like)
-"Blue Eyes" by the Cary Brothers (beyond romantic)
-"Sway" by the Perishers (more sad, but very awesome)

I hope I helped, good luck! It's a really sweet idea.
