Im going on a one week cruise in the middle of february and i have no idea what to pack. Like what kind of clothing. Im going to places in jamaica, the bahamas, and mexico. There's supposed to be 2 formal nights and a few "smart casual" nights.
1. What should I pack?
2. What does smart casual mean?
For formal wear they are looking for a gown that you would wear in their ballroom and your average dress will not meet what they are looking for as this has to be an ultra-fancy gown for such an event. think something you would wear to an awards ceremony (Oscars). It doesn't have to be expensive but needs to look fabulous.
For guys this would consist usually of a tuxedo and tie. In some cases a suit and tie may work but check with the people running the cruise for what they expect.
You should probably call the cruise organizers this week and ask about clothing because they know exactly what you should pack and can make suggestions. Obviously, you will need t-shirts, pants etc for a hot climate so be sure those are in your suitcase too. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]

You can take maybe two dresses for the formal nights and just jeans and a dressy top for the casual nights. Also you can pack shoes or cute flats to wear with the jeans and dresses.
