I got mine at Future Shop. It's a Gateway, and it only cost 500$!
What you should look for is offers on refurbished laptops. That way you can get more for your money.
Dell is the cheapest you can get a fresh off the lines laptop, but they're lower end.
So yes, look for a refurbished one and you can get much better quality.

Ebay is usually pretty good, but sometimes its a little risky, Dell has really good labtops and you can probably find a cupon or discount online. Um...
