If you really do decide to, you need to numb the spot with ice, and heat a saftey pin; the pointy end. The needle goes from top to bottom, and when you put the ring in as you know it goes from bottom to top. Pinch a little piece of skin that looks reasonable to have a ring there and make a black dot so that when you pierce it you know the correct place. If you do it, good luck!
