hey i saw this on the advice coloum about a girl whos mom is her best friend.
"secluding yourself too much from kids your own age could have so bad effects on you"
what are those effects?

If you do, you won't be able to socialize with kids your own age as well as you would if you hung out with them more often. Also, you're not going to be to be able to get advice from teens your own age...if you were to ask a question about teenager stuff they'll answer is based on their teen years which was years back...I personally think it's better to get advice from people that is your age right now.
It's true that you can always rely on a family member but when you're dealing with family issues, you need friends out there to support you then and there. Also when you go out into the real world, you're going to be too used to family love that you may not be able to deal with all the drama that always never seems to stop...
