Shaving is essentially like a mini-attack on your skin, particularly the sensitive area of your genitals. While nothing can guarantee 100% success in eliminating razor burn, some things can help. These include:
1. Shave after you bathe - in non-scented water. If you shave after you've taken a bath, or at the end of a shower, your skin will be more hydrated, the hair will be softer, and the hair will be standing up more.
2. Use a new razor. A new razor means you won't have to go over the same area again and again, which can really bother your skin.
3. Use a shaving cream for sensitive skin that will help soothe the skin, like something with aloe in it.
4. Shave in a downwards direction. Shaving in the direction the hair grows is much easier on your skin.
