Can someone that is a catholic marry someone that is a protestant? or is it against religious rules?

To answer your question straight out, yes a catholic can marry a protestant. The only thing would be if it's a civil marriage only or also one in a church. If you want a church marriage, one of you will have to convert to the other religion. Most religions require you to be of the same faith if you plan on wedding through a church.

Your the same religion.

Catholics and protestants both believe in Jesus the Christ as their lord and savior, but have different views on it, different ways to celebrate their faith. Either way the core of each is the exact same, they just do their ceremonies and whatnot differently.
