Dont you think Person A should not dwell on what another person said to them a day ago, a week ago, a month ago, a year or years ago because chances are the person that said something to Person A would never remember saying it to Person A and Person A is dwelling for nothing and why do you feel this way"

Then I would understand person A for dwelling on whatever was said, but if it was just like, "your haircut is ugly," or, "ew, your pimple looks like a second head is growing," she or he should just let it go.

People shouldn't dwell on the past. I think it's stupid because it's a waste of time. Most likely the person doesn't even remember what they said and they most likely think it doesn't bother person A.
It's okay to think about it once it's said like a few days ago or even a week. But once it's a month old, it's already in the past and forgotten. Unless a friend called you a bitch for the very first time, it's gone.
Yes, it's dwelling on something for nothing because people say stupid things without realizing it. Once they realize it, they try to forget their mistake.
You feel like that because you took it the wrong way and things like that, usually don't escape your mind as quickly as it's said.
It's like someone called you fat and you know you're okay with your body. But you'll always remember that person calling you fat because you aren't used to it and it's a new thing to get into your head.
Dwelling on the past isn't worth it.
People forgive and forget.
So if something bothers you so much, then talk to the person BUT only if it was said days ago. Or reallly recent so they don't forget. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
