limewire and myspace

Question Posted Monday December 18 2006, 1:47 am

ughh ok im having soo many effin problems! so i recently got limewire, so im not too terribly familiar with it but i got the jist of it and my boyfriends helping me some as well. n e way tonight i downloaded a song from there hoping to put it on my myspace because the band myspace did not have it. well getting the song was a problem in itself because it wont save right! when i went to the library it showed where it was but when i checked there by going from my documents it wasnt there! so i was like grr and tried resaving 900 times and even saving it in different locations and it still wouldnt work. so finally i just copied the location and when i went to my music myspace to upload it it wont work again. the song plays fine on limewire, itunes, and WMP but the first time i uploaded it to myspace it played for like 3 seconds and that was it. but like the whole song didnt even load. so i deleted it and now when i upload it and its on the player and i click play it either says "connecting...." for like everrr and never connects or it immediately says "stream failed". ughh its making me sooo mad can someone please help?

You have to pull it from a folder on your computer to do anything with it. The trouble is, you can't find that folder. Here is what you do:
When you download limewire to your computer, along with it comes a "shared" folder. All of the songs you download automatically go to this folder. I have an HP computer, but it should be basically the same steps on yours if you have a different brand.
To find shared folder:
go to start menu, then click on my computer. Click (C:), then click documents and settings, then click on your primary administrator folder (there should be 2 different folders, my primary says HP_administrator), then click shared folder.
Once in the shared folder you should see the songs you have downloaded. Big word of advice, right click your folder to make a desktop shortcut to save you all of this trouble next time.
Once you get to your song list in shared folder, you can right click the individual songs and send them places or add them to play lists on your media player.
However, I don't know much about myspace to be able to tell you how to move the songs there, but that may be something you are already familiar with doing (I hope).
